Gator Receiver in Motion, Cox Stadium, 1967

About This Item

San Francisco State College’s number 17 moves upfield after making a catch during a 1967 football game at Cox Stadium. Wearing a dark jersey, the Gator lowers his stance as he prepares to advance the play. Behind him, opposing players in white uniforms—including numbers 30, 40, 77, 22, 10, and 83—line the sideline while spectators watch from the sparsely filled bleachers. The image captures a poised moment of transition from reception to run amid the open space of the home field.
