Defensive Stop by the Gators, Cox Stadium, 1967

About This Item

San Francisco State College defenders close in to stop a run during a 1967 game at Cox Stadium. Gators in dark jerseys—numbers 35, 57, and 72 visible—bring down an opposing ball carrier in white, while another opponent, number 67, rushes in from the left. The coordinated tackle halts the play near the sideline, framed by the tree-lined slope that borders the field. The photograph captures a moment of teamwork and determination in the Gators’ defensive stand.
