Kickoff at Cox Stadium, 1967

A kicker from the visiting team in white uniform sends the ball into play as San Francisco State College’s number 16 prepares to advance during a 1967 game at Cox Stadium. Players in light jerseys stand along the sideline, with numbers 31, 80, 12, and 84 visible. Behind them, spectators fill the lower rows of the bleachers, framed by the campus hillside and the tall eucalyptus trees rising above the stadium wall. The photograph captures the instant of motion marking the start of a play.
