Gators Receiver Makes the Catch, Cox Stadium, 1967

San Francisco State College’s number 26 leaps to secure a pass during a 1967 football game at Cox Stadium. Wearing a dark jersey, the player cradles the ball tightly as a referee watches the play from only a few yards away. The goalpost and a line of eucalyptus trees form the backdrop, giving depth to this sharply framed mid-action scene. The photograph captures timing, focus, and athletic form in a defining moment of the Gators’ 1967 season.
