Frederic Burk School Boy Watching the Cattle from the Fence

A Frederic Burk School boy in a cowboy hat sits astride the metal farm gate, gazing across the barnyard at a cow standing nearby. His sweater is tied around his waist, and his sneakers rest firmly on the rails, giving him the look of a young ranch hand surveying the scene. The barn, sheds, and utility poles frame the setting, anchoring the child’s imaginative pose in the reality of daily farm life.
