The Best Fertilizer Co. was founded in Oakland in 1930, during the Great Depression, by Lowell Berry. By the 1960s, Best Fertilizers was a well-known name among Bay Area gardeners. Many of the products were being manufactured at the company's plant in Lathrop (San Joaquin County).
These Best Fertilizers radio commercials were found on a reel of audio tape in the archives of the Bay Area Radio Museum and Hall of Fame. They were digitized by volunteer Andrew Welburn.
