About This Item
Tony Tremayne (born Mel Fritze, 1922-2004) was a familiar voice on Bay Area radio for decades. He was part of KYA's staff during the station's Top 40 heyday, switching from a disc jockey role to that of a newscaster in 1962. Tremayne was inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame in 2017.
This newscast aired on Easter weekend in 1967. It was found on a reel of 1/4" audiotape held in the Bay Area Radio Museum and Hall of Fame archives and digitized by volunteer Andrew Welburn.
