About This Item
I. Magnin was a luxury department store chain founded in San Francisco in 1876 by Dutch immigrant Mary Ann Magnin. She named the company after her husband Isaac.
In the 1940s, the I. Magnin chain was acquired by Southern California-based Bullock's, which later merged with Federated Department Stores.
This example of I. Magnin radio advertising aired during the mid-morning hours on January 20, 1977--the day Jimmy Carter was inaugurated as President of the United States.
