The back of this piece is meant to draw attention to the fact that although Mortezaie’s father was a member of the Tudeh Party and much of their values have been long instilled in him, the party wasn’t always completely welcoming of all workers or people as they touted. Specifically, Mortezaie wished to highlight the “backwardness” of many of the members’ homophobia that contradicted their leftist, revolutionary values, by inverting their party slogans.
