- Part of Taraneh Hemami’s 2014 project “Theory of Survival: Fabrications” at Southern Exposure in San Francisco. This work appropriates orientalist aesthetics, imagery from the cover of the seminal work “Orientalism” by Edward Said, Iranian protest imagery, and Iranian boyhood to comment on commodification and exploitation of SWANA (Southwest Asian/North African) or Middle Eastern bodies under Western Imperialist influence.
