Liberation Theology and its Role in the San Francisco State College Strike of 1968

This panel will examine the participation of the controversial Ecumenical House during the historic strike as an exemplar of liberation methodology. It will further explore the controversies that surrounded liberation theology in the context of the historic Civil Rights Movement and the general quest for social justice. The panel will be asked to explore current challenges to Black Liberation Theology that have emerged in the wake of the U.S. presidential election and the perception regarding the controversial Reverend Jeremiah Wright. http://ethnicstudies.sfsu.edu
