Bank of America on the corner of Market & Castro - 1975

Bank of America on the Corner of Market & Castro Street, taken during the construction of the MUNI metro system through Twin Peaks; This branch of Bank of America was closed when they merged with Security Pacific (18th and Castro Street), originally Hibernia. Many hoped that this building could be used by gay nonprofits or as a gay community center. For a time, Noah's Bagels opened a small shop on the Castro Street side, for about 7 years. The main portion of the bank was used by the Life Center and the AIDS Health Project By 2002, this space was used as a clothing store, Diesel.
