Herth Realty on Castro Street

Herth Realty on Castro Street; Begun by Ray Herth in 1965 at 9th and Irving Street, but moved here in 1971. Ray has been a major force in the gay community, very generous and supportive behind the scenes. Several original cottages exist here behind the Castro Street buildings; Some of these were moved to the rear in order to build bigger commercial buildings. In the 1950s, this was the site of the New Paris Shoppe.
