About This Item

Looking south at Market Street from uphill on Castro Street. Note the 76 Gas Station to the left that would soon begone, the Arco station on the right and beyond that the Bank of America. On the skyline on the left are the Victorians in Eureka Valley. This slide in particular illustrates the change in the neighborhood from an "ordinary neighborhood" to a "gay neighborhood."
