East at the south side of Fulton Street from Fillmore Street - 1983, Victorians
About This Item
The structure at the far right is a motel which in the 1960s was largely populated by prostitutes and their customers. The tall building in the middle with the red tile roof and purple highlights was the first apartment of professor and collection creator Max Kirkeberg. He had 7 rooms elegantly furnished, a garage space, utilities included; monthly rent was $115/month.
