About This Item

This modern building, too short for Steiner, is not out of scale to the other buildings on Hayes Street. The white Queen Anne on the right is 642 Steiner; it was built in 1895. The architect was Henry Geilfuss, the same architect for 1198 Fulton and 824 Grove Street.
