Looking east on Newman Street from Holly Park - 1973
About This Item
Note the tiny one-story Victorian on the left. On the right side, the hills are Hunter's Point, still with the WWII shipyard work housing. In later slides, this will be replaced by Redevelopment Housing. Interstate 280 is visible in the middle and left of the picture. Also at the far left are buildings associated with the greeneries and Pier 80. On the right side, the big horizontal buildings with black windows is an elementary school in Bernal Heights. See related slides for the gradual development of Hunter's Point.
