Looking northeast at the east side of Peralta Avenue - 1990
About This Item
On the horizon in the middle are the high-rises of the Financial District, along with the trees of Potrero Hill and a bit of San Francisco General Hospital. The style of these homes is Queen Anne Cottage, and they date from around 1900-1906. Although the slide does not show it, Florida Street is the widest street going up to Peralta Avenue from Army/Cesar Chavez Street; all the others i.e. York Street and Hampshire Street are virtually one-way streets when cars are parked. Much of the neighborhood uses Florida Street as the main access for getting up the hill.
