Vacant lot at the top of the steps at the beginning of Peralta Avenue - 1993
About This Item
Vacant lot at the top of the steps at the beginning of Peralta Avenue; the steps are out of view and to the left in this slide. The land is owned by the State of California as part of the freeway. Neighbors named this lot the "Adam and Eve Memorial Park." When the freeway was constructed in 1952, two streets east of Holladay were eliminated - Adam and Eve. Over the years, neighbors planted Naked Ladies lilies. Subsequently, others have taken to doing plantings.
