Looking north-northeast from Peralta Avenue and Holladay Avenue - 1982 (panorama 3 of 5)

About This Item

Highway 101 is at the far right, and all the other roads are freeway exit and entrances. The eastern portions of the future Potrero del Sol park are just beginning to be landscaped. Beyond that are an elementary school and San Francisco General Hospital. Just to the right of the sign "Merit Taste Knockout" is a pedestrian bridge over the freeway, and above it a large industrial building that was a Dutch Boy Paint Factory. By 1991, the factory was replaced by smaller, very white, housing. Note, tobacco advertising was outlawed throughout the United States in 1999.
