Looking east/southeast at Eureka Valley from 31 Saturn Street - 1976 (panorama 1 of 5)

The main street heading east/west is 17th Street. Near the center of the photo is the Castro Theater, which is just off of 17th Street on Castro Street. At the end of 17th Street begins an industrial area, and then comes the San Francisco Bay. The hill on the horizon in the middle is Potrero Hill. At its western base are a complex of brick buildings and one big white building, which make up San Francisco General Hospital; McKinley Park sits to the left and above the hospital. A Pacific Gas & Electric gas storage tank, actually located on the east side of Potrero, is visible above the hill. Towards the right side, we see another Pacific Gas & Electric storage tank and then the beginnings of Dolores Heights.
