New condo building at 3561-65 21st Street - 2009

Each condo sold for more than $1 million in 2009. A small beige Victorian cottage stood on this lot with a tragic story. SF Chronicle, 6/30/95: Police broke into the home after complaints and a tip from neighbors. They found an 80 year old woman sitting in filth and feces who was unintelligible and two dogs and rats running around. They took her to the hospital & picked up the dogs. When her son, Attorney Stanley Hilton, reported a break-in, he didn't mention his mother but asked about his dogs. His mother had advanced Alzheimer's and had to be locked in to prevent wandering - but she was severely neglected in addition. The house had bars on the windows and padlocks.
