About This Item

The building in the process of being painted. Note, the Valencia Hotel sign on the Valencia Street side of the building. The building is three stories and was built in 1907 and named the Mission Central. In 1924, it became the Hotel Valencia. By 1976, the building was a mess and a local disgrace. So, in 1984, it was renamed the Valencia Inn, and operated as a bed & breakfast. In 1985-86, the building was repainted and refurbished as Casa Valencia. It was owned and operated by Mission Housing Development & Neighborhood Corporation. The ground floor remains rental commercial spaces.
