Parklet called 'Deepistan National Parklet' at 937 Valencia Street - 2012

About This Item

Note the Italianate at the far right has added a modern-style garage and a sign indicating the building was built in 1876. Compare this view with that of the previous slide from 1988 and note the differences: much more color and more trees. The third Victorian is painted a mustard color and has created a parklet in front of the home. See related slides for this parklet, named "Deepistan National Parklet," which opened in July of 2011. Regarding the Victorian on the right, the San Francisco Chronicle did a cover story on this residence in October 31, 2010 about the buyer. The new owner lived in Mountain View but wanted "to buy a home that was quintessentially San Francisco in a hip, up-and-coming neighborhood." After a two month search, he closed on the $1.2 million rehabilitated Victorian built in 1875, including three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.
