East side of Valencia Street, opposite Hill Street - 2012
About This Item
The building on the right side in the middle has a fairly common Italianate Victorian look, except for the balustrade at the top, which was probably added to match the one on the left. The main tenant was Lasts Paint Clearance. The paint store has been replaced by Casa Bonampak, a fair trade Latin American store. The tenant to the right is Aquarius Records. In the 1970's, they were next to Castro Camera, then they moved to Sanchez Street, then to 24th Street, then to Valencia Street in 1996. See related slide.
