About This Item
The street catty-corner at the lower left is Folsom Street. The large white building in the middle-left is John O'Connell Vocational High School on Harrison Street and 21st Street, which was torn down after the 1989 Earthquake due to significant structural damage. Above it and to the left is the Lily Anne mural at 17th Street and Harrison Street, and above that is the Central Freeway. In the middle of the slide is a cream-colored building with a small tower at Alabama Street and 17th Street, and above and to the right is the old Hamm's Brewery, now an office building. At the far right about two-thirds up are the trees and a few patches of grass in Franklin Square. At the top of the slide are high-rises associated with the Union Square Area, mostly hotels, and at the upper right, the Financial District.
