About This Item
The park in the middle-right is Franklin Square. At the far left-middle is a cream colored building with a tower at Alabama Street and 17th Street. Above it and to the right is a tall gray building with black window, which is the old Hamm's Brewery at 15th Street and Bryant Street. In the middle of the slide are two blocks between Florida Street and Bryant Street with prominent cream colored buildings. The high-rises at the top left are mostly hotels in Union Square. The hill in the gap between the high-rises is Angel Island. Beginning with a tall white building with lots of windows on California Street at Kearny Street is a mass of high-rises associated with the Financial District. In front of the high-rises in the Financial District are two hotels: The Marriott at Mission Street and Fourth Street on the left, and to its right a hotel at Third Street and Mission Street that has gone through a number of name changes. The bottom third of the slide shows the residential area of the Mission District.
