Telephoto of General Hospital from Upper Market - 2003

About This Item

In the middle of the slide are the brick buildings of the old SF General and the new white hospital buildings. The trees behind the hospital are associated with 101 freeway. Behind the hospital and freeway is Potrero Hill, which still has a water tower at this stage, and beyond that is SF Bay and the east bay hills. At the lower left corner we see a church with steeple that would be St. James Catholic at 23rd Street and Guerrero Street. The long white building at the lower middle of the slide is Horace Mann Middle School on Valencia Street. Above it the dark shingled building with steeple is Mission United Presbyterian Church at 23rd Street and Capp Street.
