About this collection

The Poetry Center's Mazza Writer in Residence program is supported by the Sam Mazza Foundation. Beginning in Fall 2017, with poet Tongo Eisen-Martin, from Fall 2018 on, poet Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, novelist Juliana Delgado Lopera, playwright Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, poet Wendy Trevino, writer Brontez Purnell, poets Angel Dominguez, erica lewis, Ari Banias, Phoebe Giannisi, Josiah Luis Alderete, and Priscilla Wathington have been the Mazza Writers in Residence to date.

For each Mazza Residency, we organize classroom visits in multiple areas of study across the SF State campus, and two public events, at The Poetry Center and at a local area venue, with public events video-documented. With gratitude, we're pleased to note that the Sam Mazza Foundation in 2020 very kindly made a ten-year commitment for continuing support of the Mazza Writer in Residence program.
