Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta with Kyle Parker: October 6, 2018

Following opening remarks by Patrick Marks, Steve Dickison introduces Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta and Kyle Parker in performance. Luboviski-Acosta begins by escorting the crowd outside of The Green Arcade onto the sidewalk, where Parker begins the performance, reading Luboviski-Acosta's "Mutable Sign (RITE OF SPRINGS)" while Luboviski-Acosta performs a series of movements inside the bookstore. After inviting the audience back inside to continue the performance, Luboviski-Acosta and Parker turn off the lights in the venue for the remainder of the performance. They read the same poem in tandem, walking throughout the audience, while playing the same poem on two tape recorders. The performance transitions again, as they illuminate the room solely with two flashlights and read. The final stage of the performance utilizes audience participation, with Luboviski-Acosta instructing the audience, "Repeat after me as loudly as possible" as they read lines from poems projected on a screen for all to see, with new pages layered over the earlier ones via transparencies. The remaining poems all read, in this order: "Memory of Water," "Young God," and "Mutable Sign (Litany of Lovers/MUTABLE DECAY)," all by Luboviski-Acosta.
