Alli Warren and Feliz Lucia Molina: April 12, 2019

The Poetry Center presents Alli Warren and Feliz Lucia Molina, reading from their work, at The Green Arcade in San Francisco. Warren reads two long poems, one as yet unpublished, and the other published as the chapbook Little Hill (The Elephants, 2018). Molina reads from her manuscript, Thundercastle. This event is the second of a two-evening program in The Poetry Center's In Common Writers Series, supported by a grant from the Walter & Elise Haas Fund.

After a welcome by The Green Arcade's Patrick Marks, Steve Dickison gives a brief introduction of the poets. Alli Warren begins the night, reading her unpublished long poem "Water and Power," and finishing with the long poem "Little Hill" (The Elephants).

Molina reads "Hello Kitty Virgin Mary," "Poem for our 8-Ball Emoji," "A village shares a portable videoke machine," "Press 0 to speak to a customer service agent," "Here there are no communication machines to 'assist relations'," "What happens to the code of beheadings or dick pics that have been scrubbed into nothing," "What they brought was a holy child or infant," "The Pigs in the Bahamas are Dispersed," and finishes with "Dad sends updates about Fatima," all from the manuscript to Thundercastle.
