Uche Nduka and Sophia Dahlin: February 11, 2021

After an introduction by Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, Sophia Dahlin reads from her book Natch: "In Pursuit of Simple Bitchdom" "Glove Money," "Tandem," "Time Check," "I'm Wet Now," "What Night." She follows up with a new poem, "Sapphic 20."

Uche Nduka, stating "I'm carrying the continents I've lived in" throughout his work, reads from Living in Public: "55," "56," "57," "60," "63," "67," "73"; and proceeds to read from Facing You: "Brown Cover," "Standing Witness," "A Return to Beauty," "What Else is Being Said," "To Touch," "Riding a Honda," "A Good Thing," "Of Imprinting," "Two Lovers," "Into the Pollen," "Air Around the Events," "Poetry," "No Replication," "Extreme Weather," "Losing My Cool," "From Your Slant," "Ponder the Great," "I Haven't Seen Enough of You," and "You Nest in Another Direction."

Following questions posed by Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, the poets talk about sensuality in poetry, desire, and stylistic affinities between the two of them as poets. An attendee from the audience asks for advice for young poets. Other questions come from the audience regarding eroticism in American poetry, writing processes during the coronavirus pandemic, and writing in relation to the body.
