After being introduced by Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, Divya Victor thanks her hosts and erica lewis. She introduces then reads from her book CURB. Victor indicates that, in honor of erica lewis's working "on kinship, loss, and survival," she will read from some of her own poems "that are concerned with kinship, how it's formed and retained, how it makes a kind of shaping contact with bureacracy, and all that remains outside of the state."

Following an introduction by Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta, erica lewis, The Poetry Center's Mazza Writer in Residence for Spring 2022, thanks her hosts and Divya Victor for joining her, then she reads from her book mary wants to be a superwoman. She concludes by reading from new, unpublished work.

Following their readings, Divya Victor and erica lewis converse with one another and speak in response to questions from Tatiana Luboviski-Acosta. lewis points to Victor's recent essay at The Yale Review ("Strangers In Our Own Homes: The Pandemic's Xenophobic Discourse," Sept. 20, 2021), and they each speak to points of connection between one another's work, processes of research and composition, and uses of the archive—whether family histories, popular music, or journalistic reports of the anti-Asian violence that ensued throughout the U.S. after September 11, 2001.
