Maia Ipp and Michael David Lukas: April 2, 2024

The Poetry Center presents a reading by Maia Ipp and Michael David Lukas at Medicine for Nightmares. Maia Ipp reads an unpublished story centered on the anti-Iraq war protests of the early 2000's. Michael David Lukas reads a section from a recently completed draft of his newest novel, The Invisible Line. Steve Dickison welcomes the full-house audience and briefly introduces the writers.

Maia Ipp reads a short story titled “Diana”, which is split into five sections and set in San Francisco just before the start of the American invasion of Iraq. 

Michael David Lukas (00:19:20)

After giving a brief outline, Michael David Lukas reads a section from a recently completed draft of his new manuscript, titled The Invisible Line. The novel is set in Ottoman Palestine and is centered around vampire-like characters called “Old Ones.”
