James Broughton: November 8, 1973

The Poetry Center presents poet-filmmaker James Broughton, reading from his poetry in an early video recording. Broughton reads from True & False Unicorn (Grove Press, 1957), High Kukus (1969) and A Long Undressing: Collected Poems 1949–1969 (1971), the latter two both from Jonathan Williams' Jargon Society. Broughton is surprised with a birthday cake and song, with the event occurring two days before his 60th birthday.
