Michael McClure, Personal Universe Deck: June 19, 1973
The Poetry Center presents Michael McClure, in a summer program where he presents a workshop for writers modeling the creation of a "Personal Universe Deck" from which to compile ones affinities and sources to draw from in one's creative work. McClure references the 1966 USA: Poetry program made by KQED featuring him and his wife Joanna McClure, along with artist friend Bruce Conner. The Poetry Center's NET Outtakes Series video from that program is available here. Stan Rice, of The Poetry Center, introduces McClure's presentation before a class of writing students at San Francisco State University. Poetry Center director Kathleen Fraser makes an appearance.
