Leslie Scalapino, David Hoag, Summer Brenner: May 1, 1975

The Poetry Center presents Leslie Scalapino, David Hoag, and Summer Brenner, each poet reading their work in this early video-documentation of the three. Scalapino reads from early work, citing a manuscript titled Hmmm, and from the manuscript of The Woman Who Could Read the Minds of Dogs (subsequently published by Sand Dollar, 1976). Hoag reads from Astrolabes (Peace & Pieces Foundation, 1975) and other work. Brenner reads from work included in her first book Everyone Came Dressed as Water (Grasshopper Press, 1973) and new work, some of which would appear in From the Heart to the Center (The Figures, 1977). Kathleen Fraser makes the introducations, in the last month of her tenure as director of The Poetry Center.
