Sotère Torregian and William Everson: December 15, 1976
The Poetry Center present Sotère Torregian and William Everson, reading their poetry at San Francisco State University. Torregian reads a prologue and a new poem dedicated to Everson, and sections from a long poem, "Amtrak-Trek," for Lita Hornick, publisher of Torregian's then-new book, The Age of Gold (Kulchur Foundation, 1976), among other poems. Everson takes the opportunity to read from his epic poem, River-Root: A Syzygy for the Bicentennial of These States (Oyez Press, 1976), providing an extended introduction to the poem. Lewis MacAdams, Poetry Center director, introduces the poets.
