The Poetry Center presents “Adjunct Action | Poets in Action,” a panel at the 2nd Annual Howard Zinn Book Fair, with poets, adjunct faculty members, and union organizers Jessica Beard, Hugh Behm-Steinberg, David Buuck, and Stephanie Young, co-chaired by Jessica Lawless (SEIU) and Sheila Tully (CFA). The panelists each read briefly and comment on short excerpts of poetry and prose, followed by conversation with Jessica Lawless and Sheila Tully. Tanya Hollis introduces the event, followed by Cassie Thornton reimagining the meaning and structure of debt; Christian Nagler reading a series of poems; and Christopher Higgenbotham performing his spoken-word poem “Why, America?” The event concludes with questions from the audience.
