  Jasmine Gibson with Juliana Spahr: February 7, 2019

  The Poetry Center presents Jasmine Gibson, reading and in conversation with Juliana Spahr. Jasmine Gibson read from her book, Don’t Let Them See Me Like This (Nightboat Books, 2018), as well as new unpublished work, followed by Juliana Spahr interviewing Gibson, before she converses with the audience. This event is the first of two in a double program, part of The Poetry Center's In Common Writers Series, supported by the Walter & Elise Haas Fund. PLEASE NOTE: The recording exists only for the conversation, which is joined in progress with Jasmine Gibson responding to a question from C.S. Giscombe, in the audience, regarding the effects of her work as a therapist and social worker on her work as a poet.

  The Poetry Center presents MK Chavez and Heather June Gibbons, in reading and conversation. MK Chavez reads from her books Dear Animal, (Nomadic Press, 2017) and Mothermorphosis (Nomadic Press, 2016), as well as a manuscript of work in progress, and her literary essay A Brief History of the Selfie (Alley Cat Books). Heather June Gibbons reads from her book, Her Mouth as Souvenir (The University of Utah Press, Salt Lake City, 2018). After the reading is a conversation with the audience.

  Samantha Giles and Angela Hume: September 15, 2016

  The Poetry Center presents Samantha Giles and Angela Hume reading and in conversation. Hume reads new work as well as two pieces from her book Middle Time (Omnidawn, 2016). Giles reads from her forthcoming book Origin (Ixnay Press, 2016). Their readings are followed by a conversation with the audience.
