KPIX-TV news footage from June 1, 1968 with reporter Ed Arnow featuring an interview with Dr. Nathan Hare about the Black Today Symposium at San Francisco State College. Dr. Hare explains his belief that a certain amount of debate must precede any kind of civil action. He also emphasizes how the student protests are focused on establishing a formal Black Studies Program at SF State College, describing this endeavor as: "The greatest and last hope to solve the educational problems of the black race in this country." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

Note: this 16mm film print was transferred in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in February 2022. Film shrinkage was measured in Feb. 2022 at 0.35%.
