KPIX-TV documentary film from 1965 examining controversy surrounding the work of California's Migrant Ministry with farm workers in Tulare County, California. Opens with an editorial voice over, which explains that the Migrant Ministry's focus on trying to help farm workers address their economic and social needs is rejected by conventional Protestant churches, as being morally irresponsible. Features interviews with: Rev. Wayne Hartmire; Mr R. Roland Cosiar; Mrs Clara Rutherford; Mr Allan grant; Mr Ray Holloway and Rev. James Hazen. Also includes street scenes in Porterville, Tulare County. This film was produced by Merle Ellis and directed by Dick Williams.

I was the 'hidden producer' for documentary and was present at every production site, with the exception of the Alan Grant interview.  I was on the staff of the No. Calif. Council of Churches and made the arrangements for Kris Hartmire and the KPIX crew to do the interviews.  Since the Council was a sponsor of Hartmire's labor (union) organizing work - we felt I should not be present for the Grant interview.  An interesting note, one evening Ellis, Williams and I audio tape recorded Hartmire's description of the Migrant Ministry so a writer at KPIX could work from first hand source material.  Hartmire's comments were so organized and articulate that a writer was not needed.  The KPIX team just used his comments as the narrative for the film
