I lived in Fremont Ca. when Oakland won the ABA championship. I was the sales representative that designed and sold the Oaks their championship ring. The best thing about the entire venture for me was taking the ring sizes for everyone who was going to get a ring. Being a college player myself a few years before, made this real exciting for me. Designing the ring was fairly simple. Unfortunately no diamonds were used as the team itself was in a poor financial situation. In fact I dont believe HERFF JONES COMPANY was ever paid for the rings.

I have great memories of going to an Oakland oaks game with my uncle in 1968. I was only 10 years old and I was fortunate enough to win a pair of Rick Barry high top shoes. Great memories
