KPIX Eyewitness News report on September 30th 1969 by Dave Monsees in Napa County, featuring the Zodiac Killer's attack on Bryan Hartnell and Cecilia Shephard at Lake Berryessa. Includes interviews with Hartnell from Queen of the Valley Hospital (who explains how he tried to survive), with park ranger William White (who describes his arrival at the scene of the crime) and with Captain Don Townsend (1930-2021) of the Napa County Sheriff's office, who states that: "This guy is a pathological, psycho killer. There's no doubt about it!" Monsees also gives a brief editorial to camera from a knoll overlooking the lake near Twin Oak Ridge, where the attack took place. This 16mm color reversal film print was re-scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in January 2023. Film shrinkage was measured in January 2023 at 0.45%.
