She also states that the national Organization for Women (of which she is President) will continue to recommend that their members should oppose the nomination of Judge G. Harrold Carswell to the Supreme Court, based on a ruling he made relating to employment descrimination. It should be noted that on April 8th 1970, the U.S. Senate refused to confirm Carswell's nomination.
