Seale on Recent Los Angeles Arrests
About This Item
KPIX Eyewitness news footage from July 26th, 1969 featuring a press conference by Bobby Seale, who announces that several people recently arrested in Los Angeles are not members of the Black Panther Party. Seale explains that one of those arrested had a poster of Huey P. Newton hanging in his house, which led to the assumption that he was a Party member when in fact he was not. Seale goes on to say that the Panthers will nevertheless "check out to see what conspiratorial plot they're placing on these brothers and sisters who have been busted." Please note the original film was badly underexposed when shooting, so the picture is dark. Remastered, edited and catalogued for the web by Shira Peltzman.
