KRON-TV archival newsfilm footage from July 19th, 1969 featuring a speech given by prominent black studies scholar Dr. Nathan Hare. He states, "we need an Uncle Tom in the Pentagon. We need to choose and pick our own Uncle Toms." Concludes with Hare saying, "we have to begin to act, and to make our own history, because if you don't make your own history, someone will make your own history for you."
