Elaine Brown discusses shortcomings of Model Cities program

KPIX Eyewitness news footage from October 24th, 1973 featuring an interview given by Elaine Brown in which she registers her dissatisfaction with the federal urban aid program Model Cities. Brown says, "there are programs that are detrimental to the community that have been supported essentially by the City [of Oakland] and put upon the people by the City, with very little understanding on the part of the board members." She concludes by saying, "It is very easy to see that the Model Cities Program after three years of operations in the City of Oakland and in West Oakland in particular has done essentially nothing for the people."
