Marincello purchased by Nature Conservancy

KPIX Eyewitness news report from December 3rd 1972 by Bill Hillman from the 2100 acres Marincello property on the Marin Headlands, which has just been purchased by Nature Conservancy for $6.5 million and will be held in trust, before being passed onto the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Includes interviews with California State Senator Peter H. Behr (1915-1997) and other conservationists, who are delighted that the purchase has been made. Also includes views of large crowds celebrating by the gates to Marincello, which was never actually built upon.
