People's Park Mobile Annex (Berkeley)
About This Item
Silent KRON-TV news footage from May 1969 featuring many scenes of young people planting crops, relaxing and socializing in Berkeley's People's Park Mobile Annex. This strip of land to the north west of UC Berkeley's main campus, adjacent to Hearst Avenue, was occupied and cultivated after activists had been forcibly removed from People's Park earlier that month. It was enlarged and eventually became Ohlone Park.
